On December 6, 2024, the Department of Farm Mechanics, Faculty of Agriculture at Kamphaeng Saen, led by Assoc. Prof. Borpit Tangwongkit and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ratana Tangwongkit (Special instructors), along with Assoc.Prof. Pongsak Chontanasawat, Head of the Department, faculty members, and staff, in collaboration with the Office of the Cane and Sugar Board and agricultural machinery companies participating in ThaiTAM 2024, organized the agricultural machinery demonstration event titled “Sustainable Sugarcane Cultivation for a Greener Future.”

The event was part of a project to reduce PM 2.5 air pollution by discouraging sugarcane burning, introducing leaf stripper machines as an eco-friendly alternative. The demonstration attracted significant interest from sugarcane farmers, members of sugarcane associations, sugar factory staff, companies, students, and the general public, with over 500 participants attending the training sessions and live machinery demonstrations.
